Acadia Farm welcomes Katherine Waterbury, 2020 Student Farm Coordinator

Wolfville, NS - The Acadia Community Farm is pleased to welcome Katherine Waterbury to the position of Farm Coordinator for 2020. She has been a long time volunteer at the farm, beginning with a co-op placement during her final year of highschool at NKEC.

Katherine is a 4th year student in Community Development and Environmental and sustainability Studies. She has a keen interest in environment, conservation, sustainable food, and working in community.

This is a season like no other at the Acadia Farm with the temporary closure of the garden due to COVID-19. However disappointing these circumstances are, it also creates an opportunity to focus on outreach and education in the broader community as well as deferred maintenance at the Farm in preparation for next season.

Katherine starts June 29th and will work until August 21st. Contact her at katherine@acadiafarm.org.
