Would you like a salad with that science degree?

Wolfville, NS - Salad is on the menu today at the K.C. Irving Environmental Science Centre. Student research assistants and staff from The Acadia Community Farm harvested lettuce grown hydroponically as part of a research project with Dr. Martin Tango from the Acadia University Ivan Curry School of Engineering, colleagues at the Nova Scotia Community College - NSCC and Nova Aquaponics.

Hydroponics is a method of growing plants in a water based, nutrient rich solution. The produce is destined for the Acadia University dining hall and the Wolfville and Area Food Bank.
