Farm to Fork

Sarah and Chef Peter

Each year students, volunteers and community gardeners grow organic vegetables, herbs and flowers for the Acadia Dining Hall.  Acadia Dining Services by Chartwells purchases produce grown at the farm at the same price paid to other local suppliers, providing the Farm with revenue for operations and education initiatives.

Deliveries are made to the Acadia dining hall regularly throughout the season. Organic vegetables, such as tomatoes, lemon cucumbers, kale, peas, beans and much more are featured in the salad bar or incorporated into soups and other meals. Perhaps the person sitting next to you in Wheelock dining hall is the student farmer, who helped grow your dinner!

In summer and fall watch for the Acadia Farm bike trailer heading up the (long, steep) hill from the Farm to make a weekly delivery.
