Each year we welcome many visitors to the farm for educational tours, experiential learning and sometimes extended service learning work. WWOOFers are also welcome. Visitors come from both near and far and have included Wolfville day campers, local high school students, Acadia alumni, international student volunteers, and student groups from organizations such as the Gulf of Maine Institute and others.

In 2011 an international youth group visited from CISV (formerly Children’s International Summer Villages) a global organization dedicated to educating and inspiring peace through inter-cultural friendship, cooperation and understanding. In addition to tasting our crop of radishes, as pictured above, they spent their day gardening alongside Acadia students and learning about our community garden and local food systems. Visit CISV Canada to learn more about this organization.

Farm Tours

The Acadia Farm offers standard and custom tours and experiences. The standard tour is designed for 12 visitors and is about 1.5 hrs.  It includes demonstrations and hands-on activities, which vary depending on the season. Standard tours are free of charge.

Custom tours are also offered, depending on the size of the group, timing and staff resources available. There may be a cost for large groups or longer experiences. Please contact us for information about garden tours and other learning experiences.
